With what we are doing here today, our dream to build capacity and create awareness in the data protection sector for Nigerian youth is now a reality.”

The minister stated that with the technical expertise available to the Nigerian Data Protection Commission (NDPC),  the objective with the partnership is to train 5,000 youth in data protection and privacy.

He said: “We will work together to create the necessary awareness in the area of data protection and privacy, especially among young people. But this partnership benefits even those that are no more youth.

“Specifically, our staff in the ministry here also stands a chance to benefit from the training and capacity-building in data protection, which would lead to the safety of government information and enhance privacy and confidentiality,” he stated.

The minister added, “On behalf of the ministry, I reaffirm our dedication to fulfilling our own end of the partnership and ensure we achieve the objective we jointly share.”
