You are free to join APC, Matawalle tells Lawal

The Minister of State Defence, Hon. Bello Mohamed Matawalle, has asked Zamfara state governor, Dauda Lawal, to stop sneaking behind the corner if he wanted to join the All Progressives Congress (APC). 

The minister said the governor was free to join the party as other governors did in the state. 

He made the pronouncement on Sunday while fielding questions from journalists at his residence in Maradun town the headquarters of Maradun local government council in the state. 

“We are aware of your move to join our party but we wanted you to come out openly and declare your interest instead of sneaking behind the corner”, Matawalle told Gov Lawal 

According to him, he had no grudge with Governor Dauda in politics, noting that APC the ruling party would not stop him to join the party in the state. 

The minister stated that the doors of the party was always open to anyone who was willing to join. 

“APC as you can see is recording a milestone progress in the country as recently, we have some governors who defected to the party and governor Dauda Lawal should follow the right channel if he wanted to join the party in Zamfara state. 

“APC is one entity in Zamfara and we have a legitimate structure of leadership, therefore, Governor Dauda Lawal must follow the right direction if he wanted to join the party instead of sneaking behind”, he said 

The minister urged members and supporters of the APC in the state to remain one and law abiding citizens for the progress of the party. 

According to him, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was willing to develop the northwest with so many developmental projects that would have direct impact to the entire people of the region. 

He urged people in the northwest to pray for the success of the president come 2027 to enable him develop the zone.
