Yobe State Executive Council has approved the sum of N3,643,509,218.00, contract for the procurement of empowerment materials in the state.
The Council took the decision during its meeting at state chamber of the Government House Damaturu on Wednesday.
Briefing journalist after the meeting, state Commissioner for home affairs, information and culture, Mohammed Lamin said the council delibrated on wide range of issues and approved several projects that have bearing on people of the state.
Lamin stated that the projects approved includes; construction of 115m asphalt road and 4890m asphalt parking space within Yobe state University Teaching Hospital, Damaturu at the cost of N136,428,988.51.
He noted that the Council has also approved the re- construction, renovation of Government Secondary School, Damaturu Government Girls College, Damaturu, Government Science Technical Colleges, Damagum, Government Girls Secondary School, Ngelzarma and Government Day Secondary School, Gashua at the cost of N2,357,015,380.52.
“The sum of N883,347,500.00 was approved for the payment of tuition fees of 763 students of Nigerian Tulib International Colleges and Medical Equipment for onward delivery across the State was also approved for supply at the cost of N478,235,818.30.
“The Kerbs and interlocking of the maternal and child Health Complex Yobe State University Teaching Hospital, Damaturu also got approval for N104,218,938.06”, said Alamin.
The Commissioner maintain that the Council was also approved the construction of Damaturu city gate and security posts at four axis of the state capital at the cost of N456,100,690.69.
Mohammed further revealed that the Council also approved N154,366,000.00 for the construction of water supply scheme at the newly constructed maternity and child complex at the Yobe state University Teaching Hospital, Damaturu.
