Jigawa state governor, Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, Thursday, said experts on flood control from the Netherland have been brought to find a lasting solution to the problem.

The governor stated this at the conference hall of the Government House Dutse while hosting the European flood control experts from the Netherland.

According to Badaru, all over the world, Netherland is a country that is known for more than 300 years of flood control.

He further stressed that Jigawa state needs a solution that is cost effective in terms of flood control, to put a stop to the yearly loss of lives and properties.

Badaru said flood would be controlled and the water would be stored to be used for irrigation during the dry season.

The governor said that a committee has already been established to handle the current problem and will work hand in hand with the foreign experts in the state.

The governor added that with the team on ground the final solution to the problem would be found and solved once and for all.
