Wike, Fubara, Amaewhule attend burial in Rivers days after ‘reconciliation’

The suspended Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara on Saturday, June 28, 2025, joined the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Chief Nyesom Wike, at the funeral service of his cousin, Elder Temple Omezurike Onuoha.

The event is coming days after the reconciliation brokered by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Abuja.

The solemn event took place in Rumueprikom, Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, drawing the presence of several political heavyweights and notable figures from across the state.

Among the dignitaries present were the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Martin Amaewhule; Senators Allwell Onyesoh, George Thompson Sekibo, Olaka Nwogu, and Mao Ohuabunwa; former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Chibudom Nwuche; Dr. Sam Sam Jaja; and Bro. Felix Obuah.

Following the funeral service, a reception was held at the residence of Chief Wike, located along Ada-George Road in Rumueprikom.

The event has been interpret as a significant gesture of reconciliation between the two Rivers State gladiators.
