The Lagos socialite, Farida Sobowale, has opened up on why she attempted to take own life.
Recall that the socialite on Thursday was prevented from committing suicide.
Ms Sobowale, who is the founder of House of Phreeda, a skincare company, in a viral video, packed her Lexus SUV on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos and attempted to jump into the lagoon.
While speaking on her attempted suicide, she blamed her suicidal attempt on her marriage to another Lagos socialite, Demola Okulaja.
She stated, “Friends and families warned me not to go into the marriage. They told me that the man only wanted my money but I was recalcitrant.
“It was love that pushed me into this. He told me that he was going to be with me, make me bore children for him.
“I am so sorry for putting my children in such a position. I would not have forgiven myself if I had abandoned them after committing suicide.
“I have forgiven my ex-husband. May God provide him with another wife.”
Farida was married to Okulaja in a grand marriage about two months ago.
