Why Fayose’s election can’t stand – Ex-deputy speaker

By Our Correspondent

The bubble bust by a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dr. Tope Aluko, over the 2014 governorship election, has generated further reaction, with a former Deputy Speaker of the   State House of Assembly, Adetunji Orisalade, insisting that justice must prevail on the alleged rigging of the poll.
Orisalade who said this in a statement yesterday in Ado Ekiti, urged urged President Muhammadu Buhari and the judiciary to intervene and ensure justice on the matter.

Orisalade, a former Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Badagry Branch, Lagos, maintained that the structures produced by that election must not be allowed to stand because of the alleged “judicial coup” against the people of Ekiti by agents of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.
The ex-lawmaker, who represented Ido/Osi 2 Constituency in the Fourth Assembly between 2011 and 2015, said his appeal became necessary following Aluko’s  revelations.
According to him, rather than being vilified, the former PDP scribe should be commended by all opening up on what transpired during the poll.
