Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state has highlighted the significant strides being made by his administration in connecting rural areas with road infrastructure aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity and business activities.
Speaking at a town hall stakeholders’ forum held on Friday to celebrate his administration’s achievements, Buni expressed his government’s commitment to improving connectivity across the state.
The forum which was organised by the Office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Television, Radio, and Digital Media, Dr. Ibrahim Yabani, brought together journalists, civil society organisations from all 17 local government areas of the state.
Buni stated that his government recognises that road infrastructure is critical to boosting agricultural productivity and facilitating business operations in the rural areas.
Responding to questions from participants at the forum, Buni said that the extensive road network not only reduces transportation costs but also enhances the region’s overall economy by making it easier for farmers to bring their produce to market.
He reiterated his administration’s commitment to fostering an environment conducive to growth, innovation and sustainable development.
The event highlighted key milestones in sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, security, youth empowerment and infrastructure.
