A member of the House of Representatives and top contender of Kaduna state governorship election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Isa Ashiru on Sunday, said his mission would be rebuilding what he called ‘battered Kaduna state’ if elected in 2015.
Speaking while inaugurating his campaign organisation for Kaduna Central Senatorial Zone in Kaduna, Kaduna, Ashiru, who is the vice-chairman of House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation, said: “We will rebuild a battered Kaduna state by rebuilding confidence, trust and mutual respect.

“I will work hard to take Kaduna state back to where it belongs irrespective of religion, ethnic and political considerations. Everybody who knew our state very well is concern about our situation, let us work together and re-write our history.”
Director-General of the campaign organisation, Ambassador Sule Buba, who said the end of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had come, said: “More PDP members will defect to APC in Kaduna state. They will cross over at the right time in order to bury PDP. The success of PDP in previous elections rested on southern Kaduna which used to give block votes to the party. The PDP will be defeated in the coming elections because all the big wigs of southern Kaduna are now in APC.”

Alhaji Yaro Makama Rigachukun, former PDP chairman in the state, in his remarks, said there will be primaries in APC contrary to insinuations, adding: “The party’s constitution recognises primaries, then there is no justification for some party members to boast that they will just sit down and write results and forward to Abuja, that era is gone and it is not in the character of APC. Every aspirant should come out and look for support within the party and not bank on rigging the primaries.”
