We’ll ensure good governance is enthroned in Bayelsa state, says Fente

The chairman of “Redemption 2019”campaign organisation, Dr George Allen Fente, Wednesday has said the organisation’s main focus is to ensure that good governance and its attendant benefits are in place when Keniebi Okoko takes over the seat of governance in Bayelsa state.

Fente, who said this when a group known as “Bayelsa Women for Good Governance”, paid him a courtesy visit at the organisation’s secretariat in Yenagoa, said Okoko if given the mandate will ensure the dividends of democracy is delivered to the people particularly youths and women.

In his words, “We feel that in this dispensation the good governance team must come into play where women, youths and everybody will be given a pride of place. I think that opportunities can be given to women, the youths to lead this state and that is where our candidate come in.

“Keniebi Okoko is a youth and he is a self-made person. He doesn’t have so much political encumbrances,   no political baggage and he is a very nice product to market.

“It is not like a bad product that you need to put extra effort and that is why you see people like us left the restoration government to come and support him.

“As women and custodian of our culture, I want you people to look deeper on all the candidates and x-ray them properly and you people should pressurize to making sure that the old things are not brought to bear on us again.

“Look through all the candidates and at the end of the day please support our candidate Pastor Keniebi Okoko, he will take us to glory land” he said.

Earlier, the coordinator of the group, Agindoton Oyiendiepreye Faith, called on the chairman of the campaign organisation to ensure that women were carried along.

The initiator and head of administration of BWGG s also said that the women came together to ensure that the right things were done in the society for good governance to thrive in Bayelsa state.

Further, she stated that her group was prepared to work with Dr Fente and the entire members of Redemption 2019 Campaign Organisation, to realise Okoko’s aspiration.

She noted that without unity of purpose and cooperation nothing tangible can be done to develop women in the society.
