The Muslims Students Society of Nigeria (MSSN) yesterday said it will not accept the ban of anything that is part of Islamic doctrine including the wearing of hijab.
The union made its position known on the back dropped of the call by some people for the banning of hijab, claimed to had aided the spate of bombings in the north eastern states of the country.

Answering questions from journalists at the end of a meeting of MSSN Board of Trustees, held in Ilorin ye4sterday, chairman of the BoT, Hon Justice Abdulkadir Orire,(retd) said hijab wearing was a divine commandment from Allah.
Orire, a pioneer Grand Khadi of Kwara state Sharia Court of Appeal, disagreed with those ascribing spate of bombings to those wearing hijab describing it as “unfortunate”.
He said anyone caught perpetrating such criminal acts should be punished rather than banning the wearing of hijab by Muslims.

“Wearing of hijab is part of life of a Muslims. Certainly Muslims will not accept the banning of anything that is part of Islam”, he said.
On the call for the removal of religions teaching from schools curriculum, the MSSN BoT chair said doing so would further compound moral decadence in the society.
He said one of the factors responsible for the activities of  Boko Harram was due to lack of adequate religious knowledge, which he said would be worse if religious teaching is removed from school curriculum.
“Anybody that is calling for the banning of faith teachings in school curriculum, such person is kidding Muslims will not accept it”, he said.
