There was panic in Osun state, Wednesday evening, as secondary school students who are writing the West Africa Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) did not return home since they left in the morning.
Findings by Blueprint showed that the English Paper II exams scheduled for 2pm did not start until around 8pm when parents have been expecting their children at home.
It was gathered that the examination question leaked out, hence the decision of the body to rejig the questions and the paper did not get to the centre until evening.
Some parents have taken to social media to register their grievances while video of some schools where the examinations were taking place at night had flooded the social media.
A parent at one of the schools said, “We’ve not seen or heard from our children since they left this morning. We thought something bad had happened. That’s why we came here.”
The examination lasted till around 10pm in some schools as no official of the examination body was ready to speak with the press.
