A yet-to-be identified member of the Edo State Security Network have been reportedly shot dead at Ibiwe street in Oredo Local Government Area of the state.
A Realtor identified as Umweni Joel Isibor was also said to have been killed in his shop located at 2nd Ugbor Area in Benin City.
Blueprint gathered that Isibor was trailed from a church service by his assailants, while four other persons were said to have been killed at different locations in the State capital.
The tragic incidents which occurred between lastweek Thursday and Sunday night, came amid renewed cult clashes between members of the notorious Black Axe and Maphites confraternity groups.
The state police spokesman, CSP. Moses Yamu, was yet to respond to inquiries as at the time of filing this report.
Meanwhile, the Edo state deputy governor, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa, on Sunday, visited the residence of Umweni Joel Isibor to commiserate with his wife, children and family.
Idahosa said: “It’s with sadness that I paid a condolence visit to the family of late Mr. Umweni Joel Isibor, a businessman and an Estate developer, who was gruesomely murdered by yet to be identified persons on Friday, 25th April, 2025.
“While condoling with the grieving family, I promised to take this personally that everyone involved is brought to book.”
