ATIKU

The presidential flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has called on tricycle operators in Kano to use their votes to elect credible leaders for democracy to thrive.

Addressing tens of thousands of tricycles operators in Kano Sunday, Atiku said making a wrong choice  would be inimical to the quest for genuine leadership in an ideal democratic dispensation, adding that with the country at the threshold of a challenging transition, there was the compelling need for them to make great sacrifice.

Atiku whose speech was read on his behalf by the renowned political activist in Kano Hajiya Baraka Sani said tricycles operators have a spectacular role to play in supporting democracy at the time  when the country was in dire need of resolute and sincere leaders who can live above board.

He affirmed that the 2023 general elections were poised to change the course of history in terms of credibility.

The former Vice President pointed out that with people like him joining the presidential tussle, Nigerians would be able to sift the grain from the chaff for the sake of planting the wrong people in the corridors of power, stressing that his leadership blueprint was anchored on the premise of giving the nation a clear focus and sense of direction.

He said” we are mindful of the fact that we can support the tricycles’ operators to prove their worth  in various field of  human endeavour. there are those who are keen to be transformed  to different levels. we are out to support  them to be more relevant and productive”.

“We are ready to give scholarship grant to many of you who want to progress further. we have designed a formidable plan for use to be incorporated in any scheme we believed they would benefit and utilized to their advantage in future” he added.
