Coach Eric Chelle has said the Super Eagles second straight Jollof Derby win over Ghana was well deserved.
The Super Eagles put up a dominant display in the first half to race into a 2-0 lead, before Ghana fought back after the interval to half the deficit late on.
Nigeria also beat their perennial rivals 2-1 in another friendly in Morocco in March 2024.
“We played a great first half, second half we were tired,” Eric Chelle said after the match.
“We deserved our victory, but we have to improve.”
The coach said his style hinged on high intensity is tough and demanding and it is often “impossible” to sustain it for the full duration of the game.
Meanwhile, Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali added to the banter between the two West African rivals after the win in London Wednesday night.
“Nigerian Jollof better than Ghanaian Jollof,” he posted on X after the match.
On Saturday, the Super Eagles take on the Reggae Boyz of Jamaica for the 2025 Unity Cup.
Kick-off time is 5pm.
