Executive secretary, Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Re. Tor Uja, has dedicated the Commission and its activities to Jesus Christ.
According to him, “we want Jesus Christ to be the signature not just of NCPC, but the nation.”
Uja added that in whatever pilgrimage programme the Commission “undertakes, let Jesus be the object and influence.”
He, while dedicating the Commission formally to God, stressed the important role the Church plays in nation building as well as the role his predecessors played to move pilgrimage in Nigeria to the level it has attained.
“I hand over NCPC beginning from myself, all the staff and those involved in the pilgrimage process.”
In his ministration, Bishop Wilfred Anagbe of Catholic Diocese of Makurdi said the unity of the Church could never be compromised.

The Catholic Bishop, who was represented by Rev. Fr. Ortese, urged the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) at the national level to always speak in one voice for the unity of Christians in the country as well as the unity of NCPC.
Also speaking at the event, Rev. William Okoye said it was time to bring spiritual depth in pilgrimage, while Archbishop John Praise said “I believe we have come into a new chapter, a new page in NCPC.”
The NCPC board was represented by Rev. Dr. Zion Solomon Ibenye, the federal commissioner representing the South-east zone.
