The Kaduna state gubernatorial candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Sen. Uba Sani, and son of Kaduna state Governor, Bello el-Rufai, are some of the personalities to be awarded by Lagos state indigenes living in Kaduna.

The award is part of activities lined up for the Isokan Omo Eko scheduled by the Lagosians for Sunday, October 2nd, 2022.

The acting Chairman, Lagos Indigenes Association, Mr Sheriff Olutusin, disclosed this during an awareness road walk for the programme on Saturday, he said other personalities that would bag award, include those that contributed immensely to the development of Lagos and Kaduna states.

Olutusin said the event slated for the Gymnasium Hall of the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna will witness showcasing of Lagos culture, including Eyo dance, chanting of Ewi and presentation of Lagos history.

“We shall be showcasing Lagos, there will be Eyo dance, there will be Ewi and presentation of the history of Lagos for those who said there are no original Lagosians, so that they will understand that the colonial masters met people in Lagos who were already ruling over their people.

“We shall also be using the occasion to sensitize our members and other guests on the importance of their participation in the 2023 general elections. We shall popularise ‘Awa Lokan’, because we believe in the leadership qualities of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and we are advocating that he should be given the chance to lead Nigeria to greatness.

“We have adopted Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as our candidate, not only because he is one of us, but because he has contributed immensely to the development of Nigeria and he is the type of leader Nigeria needs right now, a leader with vision and sense of direction,” Olutusin said.
