23 persons have been killed while 33 others are injured in a road crash in Masha village, along Makera-Mokwa road in Mashegu local government area of Niger state.
The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in the state, Joel Dagwa confirmed the incident in Minna, adding that the accident occurred on Monday afternoon.
Dagwa said the accident occurred as a result of over speeding and lost of control by the driver of a blue DAF trailer.
It was learnt that the trailer was traveling from Kebbi state to Lagos loaded with cows and 55 men on board.
Dagwa said, “the injured persons have been rushed to General Hospital Mokwa for medical attention from where 23 of them were certified dead.
It would be recalled that a similar accident involving a lone trailer claimed three lives in Lambatta area of the state last week.
