President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Wednesday sworn-in Professor Dakas Clement James Dakas as the chairman of Nigerian Law Reform Commission (NLRC).
The president also administered oath of office on Mr Uchenna Eugene Okolocha as commissioner in Nigerian Law Reform Commission representing the south-south.
The event took place at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa in Abuja shortly before the commencement of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.
Professor Dakas, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Jos, is a former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Plateau state.
Meanwhile, the Federal Executive Council has observed a minute silence in honour of the former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh.
Ogbeh died on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at the age of 78.
Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, formally announced the passing of Chief Ogbeh.
Describing the late Ogbeh as “a patriot who served Nigeria meritoriously and with dedication,” the SGF recalled his contributions to national development in various roles, including Minister of Communications in the Second Republic (1982 to 1983) and Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party from 2001 to January 2005.
