Nigeria’s Super Falcons have won the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations 10 times, following their triumph over Morocco at the just concluded 2024 edition, making them the most successful team in the tournament’s history.
Nigeria dominated the early years of the tournament, winning six out of the first seven editions.
They had a strong comeback between 2010 and 2018, winning four titles in a row.
After missing the 2022 title (which South Africa won), Nigeria returned to win the 2024 edition, bringing their total to 10.
The 2024 final was particularly notable because Nigeria came from behind to defeat Morocco 3–2, showing determination and mental strength.
Although they hosted and won the first edition in 1998, most of their victories have come outside Nigeria, proving their ability to win away from home.
Their success is supported by a strong football structure, talented players, and international experience.
Nigeria has been the most consistent and dominant team in WAFCON history. Their 10 titles reflect long-term strength and competitiveness in African women’s football.
