There’ll be clean water in Imo, commissioner assures residents

Commissioner for Water Resources in Imo state, Ozor Obinna Ogwuegbo, Monday,  assured that clean pipe borne water will be made available to the people by the administration of Senator Hope Uzodimma.

Ogwuegbo, who spoke with our correspondent in his office said government was working on repairs of the water pipes damaged by the Owelle Rochas Okorocha’s administration while constructing roads and demolishing structures in the state and that when the repairs were done, the various water schemes would be brought back to live.

He said a lot of damages occurred during that administration and that it would be difficult to determine when water would be available in all zones and local government areas of the state, but assured that reasonable work would be done in the next few months.

The commissioner harped on the importance of clean pipe borne water to the health of the people and encouraged them to prefer it to borehole water which he said was not healthy for consumption.
