Nigerian female table tennis player, Edem Offiong has announced her retirement from the Nigerian National Table Tennis Team.
In an Instagram post on Thursday, 14th of November, Offiong shared her decision to step away from the international stage, “To explore new horizons.”
“A proud 5-time Olympian, I bid farewell to the national team… I extend heartfelt gratitude to everyone who’s supported me on this incredible journey: family, friends, and well-wishers.
“Your unwavering love and encouragement mean the world, from humble beginnings in Bayside to international recognition,” she added.
She also expressed thanks to the IOC, NOC, NTTF, and credited her achievements to God’s gifts and opportunities.
Offiong has earned six gold, four silver, and five bronze medals at the African Games.
