A 16-year-old boy, Imafidon Julius, who was beaten to stupor in Kwamba, Suleja for allegedly stealing N1, 500 has lost his right eye.
Julius, it was gathered, had been rescued from being killed by Owolabi’s wife from whom he allegedly stole the money from her hangbag.
Blueprint learnt that after the beating he was rushed to the Gwagwalada Teaching Hospital where an eye surgery was carried out on him and was not successful at the cost of N60, 000.
Narrating the incident, one of the neighbours, simply identified as Segun, said when the family of Owolabi called them to help in the preparation of a ceremony “Julius joined us and latter sneaked into the female handbag that was kept on the table and took away N1, 500.
He said: “We could not spare him alive if not the intervention of the wife of Owolabi whose money was stolen.
“It was as a result of the beaten that Julius lost his right eye.”
Speaking with the parents of Julius who sound helpless, saying “we don’t know why life is treating us like this.”
“We have three children and this is our first son, two weeks our only daughter fell from upstairs and had her private part injured so badly; as I speak to you now we’re still nursing the pain and now this again.
“What do I do,” Julius’s father said.
