The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially unveiled the National Campaign Council for the forthcoming Karim I State Constituency legislative bye-election in Taraba state, scheduled for August 16, 2025.

The election, to be conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), is a key contest in the party’s strategic plan to consolidate its grassroots presence in the North East.

The announcement, jointly signed by the APC Deputy National Women Leader, Hajiya Zainab Abubakar Ibrahim, and the National Vice Chairman, North East, comes as part of the party’s commitment to ensuring a well-coordinated and inclusive campaign structure that leverages the strength of its national, zonal, and state leadership.

According to the statement, the newly inaugurated National Campaign Council is tasked with mobilising broad-based support, deepening the party’s engagement with the electorate, and driving issue-based campaign messages that resonate with the people of Karim I.

The bye-election, which follows the declaration of a vacancy in the constituency’s seat at the Taraba State House of Assembly, is expected to be closely contested.

The APC leadership emphasised that the council will work in synergy with the state chapter, local government structures, and grassroots networks to secure a decisive victory.

Speaking on the development, Hajiya Zainab Abubakar Ibrahim stressed the importance of unity and strategic mobilisation:

“This council represents our readiness, organisation, and determination to connect with the people of Karim I.

“We are confident that with our dedicated team, guided by the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, we will deliver victory for our great party and ensure responsive representation for the people.”

The party urged members, supporters, and the electorate to rally behind the APC candidate, assuring them of a campaign anchored on integrity, development-oriented policies, and the genuine aspiration to improve the lives of the people of Karim I State Constituency.
