Take care of your children, Oba Ogunleye urges parents

Towulade Akinale, Oba Olufemi Ogunleye, has admonished parents and guardians to take extra care towards the growth of their children so as to give them sustainable positive future.

As the culturally and value oriented generation is fast depleting due to age, the children in today’s space are in ‘fast lanes’ struggling for lust and damaging character and the credibility of their pedigrees and the nation in general, Oba Ogunleye remarked.

Addressing a congregation at the 9 lesson Christmas Carol at the St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Oke Odo, Gbagura, Abeokuta, weekend, Oba Ogunleye regretted that the decadence in the society is traceable to parental negligence and connivance of parents to encourage youthful malfeasance.

“How can one  explain the audacity of some parents flaunting a nebulous association of yahoo boys’ parents in a country governed by by law?” he asked.

The traditional ruler lamented that the uncertainty of a regulated reprisal rather than the severity of the punishment for crimes in Nigeria has discounted the efficacy of our laws against many crimes including the endemic corruption and thus sustain recidivism, adding that parents and guardians should now gird their loins to mold the character of their wards for sustainable positive societal development.
