Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade has shared her inspiring journey from humble beginnings to football stardom, recounting how she once sold Olive oil and local drinks like Kunu and Zobo during church programmes before rising to continental fame.

Ajibade gave the testimony on Saturday during the August edition of the “Power Must Change Hands” service at the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) Prayer City in Ogun State.

The Atletico Madrid forward, who captained Nigeria to victory at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, spoke about how her faith, hard work, and perseverance have guided her career.

“Whenever things are tough—whether at my club or with the national team—I pray. I do my part through hard work, but I never forget to seek God’s help,” she said.

Reflecting on her early life, Ajibade added, “I was once one of those young girls hawking Olive oil, Kunu, and Zobo during deliverance services. But today, I give glory to God.”

She encouraged the congregation to remain steadfast in faith and determination. “Don’t give up. Keep praying, keep fasting, keep working, and keep believing,” she urged.

Ajibade, a standout performer in Nigeria’s WAFCON campaign, was named Player of the Tournament and secured three Woman of the Match awards. Despite scoring just one goal, her leadership and influence were crucial to the Super Falcons’ success.
