The Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Sa’ad Abubakar, Thursday, assured the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the support of the Nigerian traditional rulers.
Speaking at the northern traditional leaders committee on PHC delivery second quarter review meeting at Sheraton Hotel and Towers in Abuja, he said the new government needs support of Nigerians to succeed.
He said: “We are stakeholders. The government needs support and encouragement. There are many new governors and they don’t know the work of our committee. We shall meet them and get their support to perform.”
The Sultan said there were challenges in six northern states where there are displaced persons and the committee will discuss and work with governors on how to reach them.
The Executive Director/Chief Executive of the National Primary Heath Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), Dr Faisal Shuaib, said the agency works in collaboration with others to carry out its programmes. He appreciated the committee and its contributions.
Shuaib stated that the South-south committee was set up last month and traditional rulers’ committee now exists in the six geo political zones of Nigeria to lend their support.
