Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state has flagged off the distribution of 30,000 bags of rice to the vulnerable in the state.
Distributing the rice on Tuesday ,in Lafia , Sule said the rice was part of the Dangote Foundation’s initiative to share one million 10 kilogrammes of rice across some states in Nigeria.
He added that the initiative targeted at various groups, including JNI, JIBWIS,CAN, WOWICAN, NUJ, and security agencies, which have been allocated over 3,000 bags each.
Sule added that each of the 13 local government areas in the state would equally receive their packages.
The governor said that modalities are in place to ensure the rice reaches the intended beneficiaries across the 147 electoral wards in the state.
