Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Monday warned hoodlums, criminals and those sponsoring them and planning to unleash havocs in the state through looting of both government and private ware houses in the state to perish the idea or have themselves to blame.
The governor gave the warning in a press statement made available to journalists in Yola and signed by the chief press secretary to the governor, Humwashi wonosikou.
The statement said credible intelligence report at government’s disposal revealed that some unpatriotic individuals are planning to sponsor hoodlums to loot government and private ware houses in the state.
“I will not fold my arms and watch anyone or any group of people trying to sabotage the government. If criminals believe that Adamawa state is a place for them to operate, be warned that you will find this state too hot to stay.
“We are aware that some in our society are giving support to these criminal elements to upturn the peace in our state. They will not succeed. We will make sure that they don’t succeed.”
Fintiri further stated that government will not stand by and watch criminals and their sponsors incite citizens to take law into their hands, adding that government will deal decisively with anyone caught trying to disturb the peace enjoyed in the state.
He wondered why they refused to followed appropriate channels of making their grievances known to the government but instead trying to embark on act of sabotage and lawlessness.
He advised citizens not to allow themselves to be misled into taking laws into their hands by some selfish individuals who did not have the interest of the state at heart and noted that there are appropriate channels for citizens to make their grievances known to government.
