Seyi Tinubu: Ban NANS, Diaspora group tells FG, NASS

The Future Platform USA, has frowned o the claims against Mr Seyi Tinubu by the leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and called on the relevant authorities to proscribe the association for the good of Nigeria .

The group also reaffirms its unwavering commitment to promoting truth, transparency, and informed public discourse, stressing that it was critical that Nigerians—both at home and in the diaspora—are presented with facts that reflect reality, not rhetoric driven by political bias or personal agenda.

In a statement signed by its publicity Director Afolabi Adeusi, it said claims made by NANS are not only baseless but appear to be part of a broader, deliberate effort to undermine the reputation of Mr. Seyi Tinubu and the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, whose steadfast support for Seyi Tinubu has drawn unwarranted criticism.

According to the publicity director, Seyi Tinubu has consistently demonstrated integrity, vision, and a genuine commitment to national development. His advocacy for humanitarian causes and dedication to public service have inspired countless Nigerians, particularly the youth.

“His leadership values are grounded in transparency, compassion, and progress—and these principles are evident in his contributions to community development and youth empowerment”.

The statement co-signed by the group president Mr Austin Dafe as well as secretary, Dr. Earnest Ahamioje, expressed deep concern by the growing trend of misinformation campaigns targeting individuals with proven dedication to public service. As a platform that supports the emergence of credible and visionary leaders, The Future Platform USA condemns any attempts to malign Seyi Tinubu with unfounded allegations.

“On the recent defamatory statements made by NANS, we urge the federal government and the National Assembly to review and consider the dissolution of the current structure of NANS, replacing it with a more credible and accountable commission that can truly represent Nigerian students.

“It is evident that the original mission of NANS has been compromised, as the organisation has become a tool for political manipulation rather than a voice for students.

“A review of the current leadership within NANS raises serious concerns about its credibility. Many of its executive members appear to have overstayed their time within the academic system, casting doubt on their legitimacy and purpose within the educational space.

“Our support for Mr. Seyi Tinubu remains resolute. He has never been involved in any criminal activities—past or present. His name remains untainted, and his commitment to the betterment of Nigeria is clear and commendable.

“We stand behind his vision and character, especially as he prepares for future leadership roles, including our endorsement for governor of Lagos state in the 2025 election.

“We encourage all Nigerians to verify information through credible sources and to engage in constructive, informed dialogue. The future of our nation depends on conversations anchored in truth and mutual respect.

“The Future Platform USA, a non-governmental organisation comprises Nigerian professionals and citizens based in Atlanta, Georgia, remains dedicated to promoting ethical leadership, national unity, and development. We invite all well-meaning Nigerians to support our second upcoming Endorsement Support Event for Seyi Tinubu, set to begin in September 2025.

“Together, let us work towards a Nigeria led by integrity, driven by purpose, and shaped by those who truly care for its people”.
