NEPL/Seplat Energy JV has donated two science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) laboratories to New Era College and Edo Boys High School in Benin City respectively.

The company said the laboratories would also serve as hubs of learning and prepare the students for the challenges of the 21st century.

The NEPL/Seplat Energy had on April 14, 2023, similarly equipped a laboratory with internet subscription for a period of 12 months to Ihogbe college, Benin City.

Its director of External Affairs & Social Performance, Chioma Afe, said the company was ready to collaborate with the Ministry of Education to provide quality education for the people.

Afe, represented by the senior manager, Corporate Social Investment and Performance, Mrs. Esther Icha, expressed optimism that the projects would enhance the understanding of STEAM by the students.

“The STEAM Lab project is part of a comprehensive Seplat Innovators Programme (SIP), which complements the Seplat Teachers’ Empowerment Programme (STEP).

“The STEAM approach to learning is a holistic and interdisciplinary approach that encourages students to explore the connections between different subjects, igniting their curiosity and creativity,” she said.
