SDP senatorial candidate promises quality representation 

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) senatorial candidate for Enugu North, Barrister Okechukwu Agbo, has said that he would sponsor bills that would facilitate human capital development if elected.

Agbo who is contesting the senatorial seat against Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of PDP, said this on Thursday at Ehalumona in Nsukka local government area of Enugu state during a campaign.

The senatorial candidate said he had the capacity to present superior arguments with facts on the floor of the upper legislative chamber.

“I have the capacity to convince my distinguished colleagues on issues that will facilitate rapid development of Enugu North going by our numerous potentials.

“We are going to Abuja to present demands on behalf of our people with superior arguments  with facts and figures,” he said.

Agbo said that the district was endowed with Agricultural potentials that can grow the economy of Enugu North district and Nigeria at large.

“Enugu North district has large Agricultural potentials scattered in all the six local government areas.

“We need good roads to link our Agricultural communities; we need security, because our zone is bordered with Kogi and Benue States in the north.

“We need hospitals for the well being of our people,” he said.

The SDP candidate lamented the deplorable condition of the Oturkpo-9th Mile Federal Road situated in the zone..

He said that, if elected, he would do all it takes to ensure a total rehabilitation of the road.

“I will push hard for the rehabilitation of that road and others in the zone and even go ahead to attract more Federal roads, ” he said.

He also promised to ensure that Enugu North zone would get it’s fair share of the poverty alleviation programmes initiated by the Federal and state Governments.

According to him this would create employment opportunities for the teeming youths in the area.
