SDGs: Experts launch RIKE SD, call for research attachés in embassies 

 

In a bid to ensure the delivery of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030 among nations, a group of experts across Africa have launched an organisation theme: Research for Impact, Knowledge, Economic and Sustainable Development (RIKE SD) with the intention of supporting national and global communities through the use of technology and innovation. 

Launching the project during a world press conference in Abuja Wednesday, the executive director, Dr. Mustapha Ayo Popoola, called for the introduction of research attachés to the Nigerian embassies for economic researches along others.

He said RIKE SD is looking at connecting research to the community, hence developing a realistic data.

He said the domain of activities resides with the global Science, Technology and Innovation ecosystem with functional tangential interlinks with various activity sectors of national economies. 

He stated that they are developing creation platform for all actor within the RIKE SD ecosystem to fix the existing gap among the important stakeholders, which is primarily to engage crowd resourcing for their projects beyond funding.

“Our activities shall be in tandem with sub national, national, regional, continental and global development agenda in support of government at all levels in achieving collective prosperity of the citizens and residents of our communities,” he said.
