Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Abdullahi Adamu Candido has felicitated with the Muslim faithful on the occasion of the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, adding that the significance of the period is to encourage piety and total commitment to Allah (SW).
The AMAC chairman stated this Tuesday during his Sallah message in Abuja. He urged the Muslims to emulate Prophet Muhammad by imbibing the ideals of sacrifice, honesty, charity and generosity exemplified by the Prophet (SAW).
“As we celebrate the Eid-el-Kabir, I implore all to pray for the end of the COVID-19 pandemic and the cholera outbreak in some part of AMAC and FCT in General. I am also calling on all to continue to show concern through observing the COVID-19 protocols during and after the Eid-el-Kabir period as part of safety measures to curtail the spread of the dreaded disease.”
Candido also assured AMAC residents that his administration is “highly committed to moving the council forward with less than a year for us to go.”
He therefore charged Muslims to use the celebrations to intensify prayers for Nigeria to enable her overcome the problems bedevilling it.
