RMAFC commissioner lauds Tinubu on FCT Civil Service Commission

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Commissioner of Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), Ambassador Ayuba Jacob Ngbako, has applauded President Bola Tinubu for pulling out the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) from the Treasury Single Account (TSA) effectively paving the way for the Nyesom Wike-led FCTA to utilise the territory’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) for the development of the nation’s capital.

Ngbako also commended the president and the minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike for the approval of the creation of the FCT Civil Service Commission to allow for staff career progression.

The federal commissioner stated this at a press briefing in Abuja Sunday to express gratitude to Tinubu and the FCT minister for putting the interest and welfare of FCT natives and residents at heart and renewing the hope of the people.

Ngbako said the president has done for the FCT what other administrations have been running away from doing, by giving the FCT almost all the administrative structures of a state.

“Restructuring is part of the renewed hope agenda of President Tinubu. The president is trying to diversify the organizational structure of the FCT. I know he is heading somewhere and he is filling the gap created by the inaction of the National Assembly.

“Because the constitution has made a provision that the political and administrative structure of the FCT shall be provided by the Act of the National Assembly. That is their responsibility.

“The approval for the FCT Civil Service Commission, the removal of FCT from the TSA, all these are administrative positions for the FCT. Again it is not ending there, because, if we have the FCT Civil Service Commission, they have to look at appointment, promotion, and others,” he said.
