Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Rivers state Council, has condemned the incessant bombing of courts in the state and had also thrown its weight behind the indefinite action embarked upon the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) to fight for the safety of its members allegedly affected by the recent bombing of Ahoada High Court by yet to be identified persons in the state.
The labour also expressed concern over the insecurity of lives and property of judiciary workers and people who make use of the courts.

This was contained in a statement issued by the state chairman of NLC, Comrade Chris Oruge, in Port Harcourt.
He said NLC was in support of the indefinite strike carried out by the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) in the state and frowned upon the interference of National Judicial Council (NJC) in the appointment of Chief Judge in Rivers state.
Oruge said “the Trade Union Congress (TUC) Rivers state council has agreed to support NLC in any action NLC would take in this circumstance in the true spirit of solidarity.”
He directed all affiliate unions of NLC to be ready for further directives, saying that labour would not hesitate to carry out full blown strike if the JUSUN matter was not settled.
