Rivers: Army to enhance personnel capacity for service delivery

The 6th Division of the Nigerian Army has reiterated the commitment to enhancing the capacity of its personnel to ensure effective service delivery.

General Officer Commanding 6th Division of the Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt, Major General Jarman Abdulsalam, stated this during the 6th Division’s Leadership Awareness and Development Course 10 2024.

Major General Abdulsalam said the one-week training would reawaken the consciousness of its personnel to lead effectively in line with the Chief of Army Staff’s philosophy.

In his words: “l must begin by reiterating the overall objective of the course, which is to train and equip the participants with the relevant leadership essential to awaken responsibility to lead effectively.

“This is indeed to enable us bridge obvious leadership gaps in the system, especially when operating in the joint environment in line with the Chief of Army Staff’s command.”

The Army officer equally noted that the course would provide the participants with excellent opportunity to discuss and explore how effective leadership and inter-agency cooperation could shape their leadership development process towards achieving success.

“It is essential that you understand and leverage on this opportunity to enhance your operational effectiveness. This course will also provide you with excellent opportunity to discuss and explore how effective leadership and inter agency cooperation can shape your leadership development process towards achieving mission success,” he reiterated.

Major General Abdulsalam stressed that the leadership was backed up by qualities including integrity, experience, character and knowledge, noting that the training would shape the leadership skills of the participants both in operation and administrative positions.
