The Rivers state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has removed the ward party officers and consequently set up a three man caretaker committee to run the affairs of the wards till further notice.
In a press briefing Monday in Port Harcourt, the acting chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers state, Mr. Omeete Eferebo, said the affected ward executives were fired for their refusal to honour the invitation of the state executive of the party.
“The executive committee of our great party in the state frowns at the blatant refusal of this chairmen and secretaries to honour our invitations.
“Flowing from the above therefore, it is revealed that the ward executives of wards 12 and 15 in Obio/ Akpor local government area, Ward 9 of Ahoada West LGA, Ward 10 of Tai LGA, and Ward 19 of Port Harcourt LGA intentionally without cause and or recourse to articles 2 .1 and 21.3 of our party’s constitution 2022 as amended, while acting out scripts of some unscrupulous elements in our party wrongly did so for some official of the party.
“The executive committee views the actions of the affected wards as a breach of article 21.1paragraph 1 and 3 of our party’s constitution 2022 as amended.
“Therefore, the executives of the above mentions wards in the various local government areas are hereby removed from their party offices, hence stand dissolved , consequently, a three man caretaker committee is set up to run the affairs of the ñň
He thanked all the party members in the state for their support and steadfastness and urged them to remain calm as the executives committee was doing everything possible to reposition the party in the state.
