Rep Isiaka turbaned Sariki Adinni of Yewaland

The member representing Yewa North/Imeko Afon federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, has been conferred with the title of Seriki Adinni by the Muslim community of Yewaland in Ogun state.

 Ogun state governor, Dapo Abiodun, was represented at the ceremony by the deputy governor, Noimat Salako Oyedele.

He described Isiaka as a respected politician, saying his recognition by Muslims in the Yewa community was well deserved. 

The governor stated that Hon Isiaka has consistently exemplified himself with humility, integrity, discipline and strength that command respect across all works of life both at the National Assembly, private enterprise and within the Muslim Ummah.

The governor stated that: “Hon. Isiaka has remained a dignified ambassador of Imeko, in Yewaland and Ogun West, principled and always committed to the progress of his people. As Seriki Adinni, I have no doubt that he will bring the same quality to strengthen the unity and spiritual growth of the people in the Yewaland Muslim community.”

Governor Abiodun said the honour was not just recognition of personal merit but rather a call to duty and deeper service even as he implored him to embrace it wholeheartedly with grace and sincerity.

The guest lecturer, Sheikh Tajudeen Olaotan, said the Seriki title is one of the biggest Islamic titles and the turbaning of Isiaka was divine.

He advised the new Seriki Adinni to brace up for the task ahead and be determined and focused.

Hon. Isiaka expressed gratitude to the League of Imams and Alfas of Yewaland for counting him worthy of the noble responsibility.

He noted that the title was rich in spiritual significance and historical in depth.

The lawmaker pledged to lead by example in faith, to support the Ummah in truth and to recommit himself to the advancement of Islam in the region.

He said the essence of faith was service to Allah; said that Islam remained a complete and beautiful way of life whose principles were based on truth, justice, compassion, and accountability.
