Ramadan: Buni declares open orientation for Islamic preachers, Imams 

The Yobe state governor, Mai Mala Buni, has Sunday declared open a one- day interactive session with Chief Imams and Islamic preachers in the state.

With themes: “The purification and reinforcement of souls and mind during the month of Ramadan,” it  attracted the presence Islamic preachers , Imams across the 17 local government areas of the state.

Governor Buni said the large percentage of people of the society listens to Imams and Islamic preachers, hence the need for them to redouble efforts in sensitising the masses, especially during the month of Ramadan.

Represented by the deputy governor, Alhaji Idi Barde Gubana, Buni stated that the interactive session  was organised in good time considering the phase at which prices of food is skyrocketing.

He called on the Islamic preachers as well as the Imams to preach on the effects of high cost of food items during Ramadan.

In his address of welcome, the Commissioner  for Ministry of Religious Affairs and Ethical Reorientation(MORAES), Alhaji Yusuf Umar, said the aim of the session is to remind the Islamic preachers to play their role towards dowsing the present socio-economic and security challenges.

He commended the state government for supporting the ministry to conduct this event.
