Radda signs N454.3bn 2024 Katsina budget into law

Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina state has signed the 2024 budget into law, following its passage by the state House of Assembly.

The budget, totaling N454, 308,862,113.96, was signed into law at the Government House chamber on Wednesday.

Governor Radda thanked the state assembly for their expeditious approval, completed within 33 days of careful scrutiny as he acknowledged the collaborative efforts of the state deputy governor, executive council members, and all contributors to the budget-making process.

The governor assured strict adherence to budget implementation procedures, emphasising resource allocation based on needs and priorities. He also appealed for continued cooperation from the legislature, emphasising the importance of working closely with government agencies.

In addition, Governor Radda highlighted legislative achievements, including the passage of 10 Executive Bills within the last seven months; encompassing critical areas such as assets management, Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency, and the establishment of the irrigation authority.

On the security front, Governor Radda shared positive news, stating that the state’s insecurity level has reduced by over 60 percent, saying the ongoing efforts to address challenges in Danmusa, Kankara, and other affected areas reaffirmed the government’s commitment to resolving long-standing issues affecting the state.

Governor Radda equally called on citizens of the state to assist the present administration with prayers for smooth execution of the budget as well as success in handling the security challenges in the state.
