PTAD verifies Lagos civil service pensioners today

Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) has deployed a total of 108 of its staff for the the verifi cation of eligible civil service pensioners under the Defi ned Benefi t Scheme (DBS) which comenced in Lagos state today. In a statement signed by its management, the exercise which will be supervised by its Executive Secretary Sharon Ikeazor, follows similar exercises conducted in four zones involving 64,825 pensioners.

According to the statement, a total of 21,295 pensioners are expected to be verified in five centres across the state. It explained that the process will take four distinct steps for capturing their bio-data and other relevant documents for them to be suitably placed in the payroll and database for payment of their monthly pension. “Pensioners who were not payrolled for years but now verified are being paid with arrears. We also go to verify the sick and infirm in their locations,” the statement read in part.
