Victor Osimhen is reportedly one of the leading candidates to replace Kylian Mbappe at Paris Saint-Germain.
Mbappe, 25, is set to finally leave the French champions on a free transfer at the end of this season after years of being linked with a move to Real Madrid.
Los Blancos remain the favourites to secure the France captain’s coveted signature, although it is believed there is no agreement between the two parties as of yet.
PSG are already looking towards the future and according to The Athletic, Napoli marksman Osimhen is one of the frontrunners to replace Mbappe at the Parc des Princes.
The Nigeria international, who helped the Super Eagles to the Africa Cup of Nations final, is a regular in the transfer rumour mills despite signing a contract extension until 2026 last December.
Osimhen, 25, reportedly has a release clause in his new deal worth around £112million, which PSG would have no problem activating without Mbappe’s hefty salary hampering their finances.
Napoli ace has evolved into one of Europe’s deadliest strikers in recent years, following up a haul of 26 goals in 32 Serie A appearances last season with seven in 13 so far this term.
