PRP appoints Balarabe Musa BoT chair

Former governor of old Kaduna state, Alhaji Balarabe Musa has been appointed as the Chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT) of the People’sRedemption Party (PRP), two days after his resignation as nationalchairman of the party.
Musa stepped down last Friday on health ground having presided over the party’s national delegates conference held at the weekend in Kaduna, but the party delegates at the conference, announced his appointment in a communiqué issued at the end of the conference.
The communiqué also ratified the election and appointment of new national officers, which saw Malam Falalu Bello (North West), emerged as the new national chairman of the party, just as the position of national secretary went to Babatunde Alli, (South West).
According to the communique, “the conference ratified the set up of a 19 member Board of Trustees and appointment of members with Alhaji Abdulkadir Balarabe Musa as Chairman and Mr.
Richard Umaru as Secretary.
The Conference mandated the newly elected NEC to fillexisting vacancies along the lines forwarded by its 54th meeting of August 31st, 2018.” The delegates also asked NEC to come up with guidelines on emergence of candidates for the 2019 general elections.
“The Conference received with standing ovation the inaugural speech of new national chairman, Malam Falalu Bello on the reinvigorated PRP focused on service to the people, committed to addressing poverty, inequality and good governance as a continuation of the party’s historic mission of emancipation.
Members of the BoT include Prof. Ango Abdullahi (North West), Gen.
Bashir Salihi Magashi (North West), Hon. Lawan Tukur Batagarawa (North West), Alhaji Datti Malumfashi (North West), Hon. Mustafa Bello (North Central) and Mr. Setly Dadzie (North Central).
Others are Engr Ibrahim Usman (North East), Alhaji Ali Mala (North East), Prof. Philip Afanmuo (South East), Dr. Segun Falope (South West), Comrade Laoye Sanda (South West), and Brig-Gen. Odidi (South South).
Conference mandated NEC to confirm the remaining members representing the six geo-political zones to ensure each zone has a full complement of at least three members.
“Conference saluted Malam Abdulkadir Balarabe Musa and gave him standing ovation for his steadfastness in keeping the PRP spirit alive despite all challenges over the years,” the communique added.
