Presidency: Students, youth leaders endorse Lamido

Students and youth leaders from the Northern part of the country have endorsed a former Governor of Jigawa state, Alhaji Sule Lamido, to run for president in next year’s general elections.
The group, in a statement issued yesterday in Abuja by the National President of Polytechnic Students, Prince Mohammed Sani Hassan, stated that Lamido had their total support for his aspiration run for president in 2019.
It read in part: “We all agreed Sule Lamido project is the project of Nigerian youths and students because Lamido showed good example when he was the governor of Jigawa state; he empowered the youth and gave scholarships to students to study both at home and in the Diaspora and that is part of the reasons we are supporting him. “We have confidence that if Lamido becomes Nigerian president come 2019, he will move Nigerian to the next stage of development, Lamido does not believe in discrimination or religious differences; what he believes in is for Nigeria to be one indivisible country.
“Lamido is the best candidate among all those contesting for president, come 2019; we are set to mobilise and support him fully.
Lamido is a sincere and straight forward leader that gives his quarter to the development of Nigeria; he is a leader with all the qualities and experience to lead Nigeria.
