Poor quality hindering shea butter’s access to int’l market

The international access to Nigeria’s Shea is restricted by poor quality of nuts and butter.

Chairman, National Shea Products Association of Nigeria (NASPAN) roadmap draffting committee,  Prof.M.T. Sulieman stated this at the  meeting with Raw Materials Research and Development council (RMRDC) on Thursday in Abuja.

Sulieman said, “ Nigeria is the highest producing Shea in Africa but we are not getting enough benefit compared to other African countries due to some constraints.”

Earlier, the Chairman of National Shea Products Association of Nigeria (NASPAN), Mr Jibril Usman said  “the meeting will produce a development for the Nigerian economy and the shea sector at large”.
