Police pass out 1,087 recruit constables in Maiduguri

The Nigeria Police College Maiduguri Wednesday passed out 1,087 General Duty Recruit Constables under the 2022 General Duty Recruit Constables in line with the federal government’s efforts towards meeting up with the manpower needs of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) in curb insecurity arising from Boko Haram insurgency and other crimes.



The recruitment exercise indicated the determination of the federal government to create employment for the teeming youths and further address the social factors that accentuated the crimes and criminality across the country.



The Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali, expressed his pleasure on the successful passing out of the police.


The IGP, who was represented by the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Alhaji  Zannah Ibrahim,said ” the ceremony involves a total of 9,989 recruits out of the 10,000 that commenced the training as a total of 11 recruit trainees could not meet up with the components of the standards set for exercise during the trainings.”


Chairman Borno State Career Guidance and Counselling Board, Abba Lawan said ,”the board has been doing its best to see that Borno fill all its quota in the police, military, other sister security agencies and civil service in general.”



He urged the graduating Borno recruits to be good ambassadors of the state.

In his votes of thanks, the Acting Commandant, Maiduguri Police College, DCP Onuiha  Bertrand, said since January 2022 when the exercise commenced, they didn’t witness any casualty.
