Police parade 6 robbery suspects, cattle rustlers in Gombe

Gombe state Police Command has paraded 12 suspected armed robbers, and cattle rustlers in the state.
The State Police Commissioner, Mr. Shina Tairu Olukolu, who disclosed this to journalists while parading the suspects at the command headquarters in Gombe yesterday, said out of the 12 suspects, six were arrested for armed robbery while the rest were for cattle rustling.
He said the arrest was made by the police in collaboration with the Gombe state Hunters Association at the Adamawa state border on the 15th of this month based on the credible information from public spirited individuals who informed that the gang specialised in blocking the road around Gombe and Adamawa states’ border
The suspects include: Saidu Adamu (alias Dujja) of Burti village, Mobi Ori of Dumna Burti village, Guyuk local government area of Adamawa
state; Ibrahim Mohammed (25); and Hamza Isah (33) from Gerei local government area of Adamawa state and Kanno Dari (30), Musa Ahmadu from Lamurde local government area also from Adamawa.
Items recovered from them included; one AK47 rifle with breech No Ab 350232, three magazine, 70 live ammunition, one pistol berretta with breech no JAJ5 02787 Italian Made, 6 assorted handsets, 4 knives and 2 charms.
The police also paraded seven other suspects who specialised in stealing motorcycles, defrauding businessmen through fake sms alerts and forgery of fake employment letters from the Federal University, Kashere, Gombe state.
The CP commended members of the public for divulging information that resulted in the arrest and promised to continue to keep the identity of informants confidential. He also called on the public to continue to cooperate with the police in the effort to rid the society of crimes and criminality
