Police foil robbery on UBA in Suleja

The Suleja ‘A’ Division allegedly foiled attempted armed robbery on United Bank for Africa (UBA) on Suleiman Barau Road in Suleja.
According to the manager, Obiajuwa Stanley, the armed robbers numbering 15 stormed the banking premises with sophisticated weapon in attempt to rob.
“They could not succeed because of the gallant of police men posted to the bank led by one Inspector Jeremiah Daniel prevented the robbers from gaining entrance into the banking hall.
“They were exchange of shooting and the robbers fled away into a Honda Accord and other vehicles with no registration number,” he added.
Eyewitnesses also confirmed the heavy shooting they heard.
“We were all scared and trembling because the sound of the gun shook the whole building. But we thank God for the Police posted to the bank we would have been dead by now.
“If they were road block the robbers would have been caught because there will be no way for them to escape.”
Confirming the incident, the Divisional Police Officer of Suleja ‘A’ Division and Chief Superintendent Officer, Francis Sunday Ekanem, said there was no casualty.
“I’m sure the robbers never knew we have such men who were equal to the task,” he said.
