A 42-year-old man, Femi Abimbola, was Tuesday charged to court for allegedly stealing a vehicle valued at N5 million.
According to the charge, Abimbola allegedly committed the offence at about 6:10 a.m. on Showumi Street, Shogunle, in the Oshodi area of Lagos.
He is accused of stealing a white Ford car with registration number EPE 206 EA, belonging to one Mr. Chidi Isibor.
The vehicle, which was reportedly parked on Julius Showumi Street at the time of the incident, was recovered by the police one month later at Ladipo, lagos.
The alleged offence contravenes Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos state, 2015, which prescribes penalties for theft.
Inspector Yusuf Dauda is the Investigating Police Officer (IPO) handling the case.
The matter has been formally charged to court and is now set for trial.
